From panel to resource.
Responsible recovery starts before anything is recycled.
Every piece of equipment entering Resolve follows a defined pathway designed around accountability, traceability and the highest practical use of the material.
Receive.
Equipment arrives at our Byron Bay facility through customer drop-off, installer delivery or an arranged commercial collection.
We accept quantities ranging from individual residential systems through to palletised and commercial volumes.
Record.
Incoming equipment is recorded as part of the intake process.
Depending on the service required, this can include:
- customer or organisation
- date received
- equipment type
- quantity
- weight
- manufacturer and model information
- serial numbers where required
- source or project
- photographs
- intended recovery pathway.
This creates a record from the point the equipment enters the Resolve system.
Assess.
Not every decommissioned solar panel is necessarily at the end of its useful life.
Equipment can be assessed and separated according to condition and potential pathway.
Where appropriate, this allows reusable equipment to be considered for a second life rather than automatically becoming a waste stream.
Sort.
Material is separated into appropriate categories.
This can include:
- Solar panels
- Inverters
- Aluminium mounting systems
- Copper and electrical cabling
- Switchgear and electrical components
- Other renewable-energy equipment.
Sorting at the collection point makes downstream transport and material recovery more efficient.
Prepare.
Material destined for recycling is consolidated and prepared for transport to appropriate specialist recovery facilities.
The objective is simple: move material efficiently, safely and transparently from the point where it becomes waste to the point where it becomes a resource again.
Recover.
Resolve works with specialist downstream recycling partners capable of recovering materials contained within end-of-life renewable-energy equipment.
This allows Resolve to concentrate on one of the biggest challenges facing renewable-energy recycling in regional Australia: collection, aggregation, recording, sorting and logistics.
Report.
Where requested, commercial customers can receive documentation relating to material handled through Resolve.
As ReTrace develops, our objective is to create increasingly detailed digital traceability from collection through to the relevant downstream recovery pathway.
Why traceability matters.
Australia’s renewable-energy transition involves millions of individual assets spread across millions of properties.
Eventually, all of them will go somewhere.
Resolve believes responsible recycling should be measurable.
A panel disappearing from a roof is not the same thing as knowing where it went.
That distinction is at the heart of what we are building.
